Fuel The Spark

Every one of us has a little slice of heaven we call home. A little house where memories are made and dreams are formed while gathered together around the table… or in my case the television. Watching Little House on the Prairie fueled a spark in my heart and I wonder what ignites yours?

What’s the far-off dream that feels too big in the present moment?

What have you overcome that could rekindle the flicker in someone else’s life?

It’s probably something that seems too big, but small dreams aren’t really worth dreaming… are they? Every ginormous dream is made up of a series of small steps; when you add them all up the goal usually unfolds on its own.

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.

Psalm 126:1

God wants us to dream big dreams. He wants us to be secure enough in His love that we can dream again. Or maybe dream for the first time. Stepping into the unknown future of a dream brings us to the perfect place—all out trust in the One who can accomplish anything.

Yes anything!

So keep making memories and keep dreaming dreams. When you are ready, take the first bold step towards the fire burning within you that just won’t quit.

My first step was believing that my story mattered. What’s yours?

  1. Love the whole idea of this post!!!
In God’s eyes all of our “little” dreams are important. I have been a Christian for 26 years and do I still good up from time to time? You betcha. That’s the bad news. The Good News is that He is waiting, with His arms held out, to welcome us back into a right relationship with Him.
Dream BIG? That’s the only way TO dream. He will give you the strength and the resources to accomplish it if we stay close to Him.

    1. Yep… dream big is the only way to dream. God is in charge of the rest!

  2. My big dream was revealed when God asked me to go to China in 2008 and I said yes — even though I had no desire to go to China, but God made it abundantly clear that He wanted me to go. I didn’t have a dream at that time, but God had different plans that I would have missed if I hadn’t listened to that still small voice within me — the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It’s a long story that has spanned over 12 years, but involved a deep friendship with a very important scientist in China unlike any I have ever experienced, nor probably will never experience again. God touched our hearts and connected us so that we didn’t even need to talk to communicate. My new, close friend became my sister in Christ while visiting me in the United States, saying she wanted my God to be her God. It is a beautiful love story that I could never have dreamed of, but God blessed me with because my heart was open and willing.

  4. I believe that slow and steady wins the race. I am building my online business slowly and with care. My dream of working from home and helping my husband retire early getting closer day by day! I trust in God and his journey to that place. I love supporting other small businesses and building relationships, because relationships are what truly matter! Thank you Wendi for inspiring!

    1. I love your thoughts on this Christy. I am in the same boat, trying to take my online business slow and steady so that my husband can be done with his office job sooner than later. What is your online business? I’d love to check it out!
