On my birthday every year, I have a few birthday wishes. High in the sky dreams I hope to receive or accomplish. After reading about Mary Ingalls and her birthday wishes this week, I couldn’t help but think about Jesus.
Did Jesus have birthday wishes when he lived on earth?
Does He have them now in heaven?
As Christmas draws near and we all bustle around wrapping gifts and cooking delicious food, let’s ponder what the Savior might be wishing for. After all, it’s HIS birthday we are celebrating.
Step outside of yourself for just a moment. Imagine the list that Jesus would be making—the things that we could do to make His heart sing on Christmas. It definitely involves loving others.
Loving our neighbors. Loving our enemies. Loving our families.
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.1 Corinthians 13:13
How we pick this apart has serious implications.
Faith – Trusting God no matter what.
Hope – An optimistic expectation.
Love – Devotion. Surrender. Gratefulness.
Happy Birthday Jesus.
Merry Christmas Friends.
