Believing A Lie

Does fear own you? Does is dictate how you live your life, what you do and don’t do? Does it keep you up at night replaying the what if’s of your day?

Mary knew fear, and we do too. It seems to stem from outside sources, but real fear comes from within. Satan, the forerunner of all liars, has us right where he wants us when we let fear take over. He distorts our thoughts and plays tricks in our minds. Believing lies leaves us incapacitated, standing on the sidelines of our own lives watching instead of participating.

We watch because we’re afraid to act, but a brave stance can send Satan away. Back where he belongs with his belly in the dirt. Don’t let Satan win. Stand up to the snake with truth. It will light your path.

I’ve been giving Satan a piece of my mind for quite a few years now. He used to win the battle in my mind, but not anymore. He won’t quit trying to deceive me, and I won’t quit telling him to leave me alone. Only God’s truth has the power to silence the devil.

We can’t predict what the future will hold, but we can surrender our fears to the One who knows everything. He’s our protector, our rescuer. Don’t believe the lies, just ask for help.

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.

Psalm 34:4

How can surrendering to God replace your fears with courage?

One response to “Believing A Lie”

  1. Wendi! You are reading my mind! I’m so empowered by being reminded that I need to battle Satan over and over. He won’t quit, and neither will I.

As I was watching TV last night I was reminded of my battle with fear in the best way! The message was we can lose to our opponents, (if they are more skilled for example) but we must never let ourselves lose to fear!
There is so much mud to get through and I find myself over and over simply calming my fear with trust in the Lord! Thank you for resonating that message!
You and your family are in my prayers!
